Hello, I’m Tim

I’m a midlands-born, long-term Londoner, temporarily living and making paintings in Sliema, Malta.

I studied fine art at Kingston, South-West London, in the early nineties. Following a couple of years of painting in cold rooms in/around Chelsea, I took a detour into a 25-ish-year career as a designer, only returning to making paintings in 2021 (whilst being locked in my home).

My current works primarily use household paint on plywood board to explore the tension and harmony created by repetitive brush strokes through fluctuating relationships of colour, scale, spacing and the quality of mark-making.
